What you need to know!

Your child's safety is my top priority, I have been fully trained in safely handling and posing newborn babies.

-

When to book?

I recommend to book as soon as possible as I book up months in advance and I only book a certain amount of sessions a month. I will reserve your due date and then once your little one has arrived, get in touch and we can book a date and time for your session.

-

I will always try and fit in all the new parents, so if you are late to the booking party and have your little one already, please just drop me a message I will always try to get your session booked.

-

Ideally, your newborn session will take place when your baby is between 5-14 days old, however, this may not always be possible, I can still capture beautiful images up to 4 weeks. Please just be aware, the older baby is, the less sleepy and more alert they will be which make it slightly more challenging to capture those ‘posed’ images.

-

Whilst visiting my studio, my aim is always to provide you with a friendly and relaxed experience. My studio is set in my converted detached garage at my family home and should you bring older siblings with you, there are parks and places to walk nearby if they get bored or fed up waiting once their part is done. Your session can potentially last between 2-4 hours, depending on how settled baby is.

-

Your only job on during the session is to sit back and relax! We will discuss what colours you love or dislike prior to the session as well as any ideas that you may have. During the session I will be safely posing baby either in an outfit from my studio closet, covered with a wrap or posed naked ensuring babies modesty is covered. All of my newborn sessions include posed shots, prop shots, family images and sibling images too. I have a many newborn outfits, wraps, blankets, hats, tiebacks, in many colours that can be used in your session.

I would encourage you to visit either of my social media photography pages on Facebook and Instagram, for an example of my work. This is extremely helpful to understand the styling and colour theme you may wish to have.

FAQ

How long will the shoot take?

Usually up to 3 hours. It all depends on how baby is.

What if baby won’t settle?

If baby won't settle then I will try to get as many shots as I can with baby awake or asleep if they do settle.

What will we all wear?

Most of the poses will be of your baby laying on their back, side or front with either a wrap, an outfit from my studio collection or naked.

For family photos I advise that mum & dad wear plain white t-shirts/shirts/dress and blue denim jeans. This gives for a lovely clean & tidy shot. Flowing neutral tops also are very flattering for mum. I'd recommend bringing along a black t-shirt too.

For siblings I'd recommend similar to parents, Neutral and simple. Please avoid busy patterns, bright colours and large logos/branding.  No shoes or socks. Pretty dresses for little girls look adorable. Lace and frills work well.

When do I need to book?

You can book as early as you wish! I always recommend booking your due date as soon as possible as I get booked up months in advance.

What if my baby has already been born?

I will always try and fit in all the new parents, so if you are late to the booking party and have your little one already, please just drop me a message I will always try to find a way to get your session booked.

What do the parents do during the session?

Your only job during the session is to sit back and relax!

What happens after the shoot?

After your session, I will post a couple sneak peaks on my Facebook page. Only if parents give permission for me to do so. You may choose for me to not do this and your decision will be fully respected.

I will then edit a select few images from you session so you can see an example of what they will look like fully edited. I will send you an online gallery which can be viewed in the comfort of your own home. Here you will view your images and select your favourite images for me to edit fully.
